Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do here at Girlguiding – and the same goes for Girlguiding Activity Centres!
We’re always looking for volunteers to help at our centres. There’s loads of different volunteering options available, so you’re sure to find something to suit you.
Why not volunteer in the front office, doing things like greeting visitors and taking bookings? Or join the volunteer team at our events, like the fun festival Wellies and Wristbands? Or you might like to help in our shops, serving customers and sorting stock?
Here’s a brief overview of the opportunities on offer:
Shop – help keep our shop well stocked and running smoothly throughout the year, especially at our busy times. This includes serving customers, restocking the shop and organising our orders.
Admin – support our admin team in answering the phone, greeting visitors and getting everything ready for the week ahead.
Gardening – if you’re green-fingered and love the outdoors, come and help keep our many acres in excellent condition.
Maintenance – on sites like ours there’s always some maintenance to be done, and we wouldn’t be able to keep on top of it without the support of our fabulous volunteers.
House support – keep our main houses running smoothly by helping our operational teams, whether that’s assisting in the kitchen, serving in the dining room, setting up rooms or even getting bedrooms ready for guests.
Events – we have over 150 events across our five centres and they all need your help to run. Volunteering at our events is extremely rewarding, and you get to watch our young members having the time of their lives.
Skoolz Out – our school holiday clubs need volunteers to provide the pastoral care for our groups to allow our activity instructors to run our fabulous activities.
Activity instructors – are you qualified in one of our onsite activities, or would you like to be? There are opportunities for you to complete your qualifications with us so that you can help provide activities throughout the year.
