Member events and activities

Girlguiding are proud to be a part of the Generation Green project, connecting young people to nature. This year we’ll be providing more learning and outdoor opportunities for volunteers to enjoy, as well as hosting fun nature themed events, camping and outdoor learning experiences for children and their families at our national Activity Centres and local campsites in the Midlands, North East and North West regions.

Generation Green events (for girls)

Girlguiding are putting on two events at our Activity Centres this year as part of the Generation Green project. Although increasing numbers of people are enjoying our natural landscapes, statistics from the Landscapes Review show that marginalised groups (including adolescents, those from low socio-economic groups and BAME communities) are especially disconnected. That’s why, through this Generation Green project, we’re looking to widen participation and create equitable access for those in these minority groups, aged 7-26, so they can access and enjoy the outdoors easier.
