Our special centenary picnic for guiding members and the local community, hosted at Glenbrook.
18 September 2022 Free event. £5 for activities and badge, £1 for badge only Glenbrook

Come and join the mass picnic in the beautiful grounds of Glenbrook in the Peak District. Join with guiding members and the wider community in a picnic to celebrate the 100th birthday of Foxlease, Glenbrook’s sister centre.

And that’s not all! Between 12.30pm and 3.30pm there’ll be an activity session that will include a range of traditional activities from 100 years ago.

The session will be a chance to relive your childhood memories or, if you’re a little younger, a great chance to see how it used to be done back in the day!

In patrols you will work to pitch a traditional patrol tent, make a washing up rack, roll a bedding roll, light a fire – and more. Patrols will be organised on the day.

Bring your own picnic and a refillable mug as hot drinks will be available free of charge throughout the day.

Can’t make it to Glenbrook? Don’t miss our separate celebration picnics happening at Foxlease, Blackland Farm and Waddow Hall too.

Can I volunteer at this event?

Of course! Without volunteers we wouldn’t be able to make this fantastic event happen. No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. If you’re interested in volunteering for this event or any of Glenbrook’s events in 2022, email glenbrook@girlguiding.org.uk to register your interest.
