In safe hands

At Blackland Farm, we pride ourselves on providing a safe experience for all our customers. We want all our visitors to experience the fun of new activities, with the reassurance that they’re in safe hands.

Our skilled staff perform regular health and safety inspections and we have risk assessments available for all the activities we offer.

One of the ways we show our commitment to safety is by meeting additional, external safety standards.  As you can see from our list of licences and accreditations, you’ll be in safe hands at Blackland Farm.

Adventure Activities Licensing Scheme (AALS)

This is a government-sponsored scheme that licences activity providers who follow good safety management practices. AALS carries out inspections and makes sure centres that offer higher risk activities (like activities that take place on water) are meeting higher safety standards. And keeping young people as safe as possible. Find out more at the AALA website.

The Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge

This nationally recognised badge is awarded to organisations who provide good learning opportunities outside the classroom and manage risk effectively. Find out more at the LOTC website.

Adventuremark

The Adventuremark shows that our risk management arrangements have been inspected and found to meet standards of good practice in the adventure activity industry. Find out more on the Adventuremark site.

British Canoe Union (BCU) approved centre

The approved centre mark from the BCU is your assurance of high standards of safety and qualified instruction in all our canoeing activities.  Equipment and facilities are approved by inspectors annually. Find out more on the BCU site.
