Learn how to paddle your own kayak with a double-ended paddle in our beginner sessions, or enrol on an improver course to build up your skills.
Our qualified instructors will get you working together to learn how to move your kayak around the water, then take part in a range of games and challenges to perfect your skills. A perfect activity for team-building with your group.
Sessions are run by our qualified activity instructors – they’ll keep you safe and adapt the session to suit the group, doing their best to help everyone enjoy the challenge. No experience is necessary as our instructors will teach you everything you need to know.
All specialist equipment is provided. Wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting wet – you’ll be on, and maybe in, the water! This cannot be denim. You are required to wear closed-toe shoes or trainers for this activity (no wellington boots, flip flips or crocs). We recommend bringing a change of clothes and a towel for after the session. Participants must be water confident with the assistance of a buoyancy aid. Long hair must be tied back and all jewellery must be removed. Please contact the centres directly regarding maximum weight restrictions.
Kayaking runs seasonally and is available April-October.
We can work with you to make this activity accessible for different abilities and needs. Please contact the centre to talk about any accessibility requirements.
